Synopsis:

Dave and Abigail have the perfect relationship. They are more than husband and wife, they're best friends, with an active sex life to rival even the youngest of couples. The two of them can talk about anything, even their wildest fantasies, but they're rapidly running out of ideas to keep things spicy in bed. When Dave broaches the subject of attending a swinger's party Abigail is willing to give it a try. The end result is nothing short of disastrous. Abigail thinks trying a threesome would be better. She even has a person in mind and with her fortieth birthday rapidly approaching she decides to give it a go. Little does she know that Dave already has birthday plans of his own. When they both come home with an extra partner their threesome quickly turns into a foursome and as the clothes come off the sexual intensity skyrockets. Everyone's fortieth birthday should be this good.

SRR GRADE:  B

The Big 4-Oh! is a birthday party that none of these characters is every likely to forget, and story leading up to the party isn’t so bad either! *wink* Beth Wylde crafted a very interesting story for those of us in long term relationships looking at add a little spice, and what can happen if maybe there is a little too much added!

Abigail is a business woman the takes no prisoners type. She is aggressive in the office, at home and in bed. But she’s getting a little tired of the same old, same old. The last thing she wants is to leave her husband.

Dave also feels that things are getting a little boring with their love live, I man after almost 20 years together there isn’t too much you don’t know about your partner. He comes up with an idea to attend a swingers party but what should have been an interesting night of fun and frolic, became just the opposite.

Determined to fix things Abigail has a plan for her birthday to make it all up to Dave. She doesn’t realize Dave is also cooking up a plan of his own. I tell you I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in that living room when the foursome realized what was going on!

The Big 4-Oh! is one of a kind – that’s for sure. The story is fun, the sex is steamy and the characters are likeable enough to keep this fast read going. A great summer read, just keep the cold drink close you will need it.

Elizabeth enjoys sex with men, and is determined to sleep with her date. The only problem that occurred was when he hightails it out of the bar-restaurant after Elizabeth made her intentions clear. Confused, Elizabeth sits at the bar, barely able to afford for the drinks when Kara approaches her. She is a neighbor of Elizabeth's. What follows is a night of intense fiery passion that made Elizabeth realizes that she may not like men as much as she use to.

This is clearly smut erotica in about 27 pages. Elizabeth toward the beginning of the night is the submissive in this story, dominated by Kara, the clearly experienced one. However, as the night lengthens, Elizabeth shows Kara a thing or two.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of this story, such as what would be the reactions of the people who knew Elizabeth before she slept with Kara and then afterwards. Still this is a pretty steamy story.

RATING:

A young college student learns her sexual identity might be a lot more pleasurable than she ever believed.

Our narrator Elizabeth, a college coed, introduces us in 1st person to her first Lesbian encounter, a definite watershed experience for a girl who has been changing guys faster than her underwear since age sixteen. She doesn’t come across as very self-analytical, so it’s entirely possible that she really doesn’t realize she’s gay, until the latest guy (so not a hunk, she says) abandons her on the 3rd date, in a gay club, where she’s picked up by Kara, a fellow college student.

Kara is all Lesbian and proud of it, and indeed she’s set up the date at the gay club because she thought the narrator was Lesbian and concealing it. Whether she is or not, the narrator discovers a whole new world of sensual pleasure in Kara’s caring.

Definitely steaming in the sensual and spicy sense, "Switching Sides" doesn’t present a lot of character evolution. However, for light bedtime reading and titillation, it works really well.

Elizabeth is a frustrated college student who is tired of the jerks she has been dating lately. The latest jerk turned out not to be a jerk at all, and he brings Elizabeth the best thing she could have asked for, Kara Nouveau.

Kara is and has been a lover of women for a very long time now, and through serious manipulations, she has a chance at the woman of her dreams, and for a real relationship. Now if only she can convince Elizabeth?

Switching sides is told in first person and written so well that you experience each mind blowing and earth shattering feeling Elizabeth does. Beth Wylde has created a lovely tale of one woman finally finding herself and meeting the Lover of her dreams. The sex, though vividly told, never gets too vulgar or distasteful and strawberries will have a whole new meaning for anyone daring enough to read this loving tale.

Switching Sides

Elizabeth goes through more men on her college campus than some people go through underwear and finds herself mostly unfulfilled. When she learns that her newest flame Brad is gay, she’s about ready to throw in the towel.

Kara, fellow art student, wants Elizabeth and she believes Elizabeth’s gay as well, or at least bi-sexual. Why else does she go through so many dates so quickly if not to hide that fact?

Meeting Kara at a gay bar was not in Elizabeth’s plans, but after watching Brad leave her there, Kara decides to come on to Elizabeth in hopes that her intuition is correct. Will Elizabeth accept Kara’s invitation for a night of pleasure and more? Or will she deny her very self?

Switching Sides is a very entertaining, quick read. Both women are very attractive in their own rights, and their own characteristics easily complement the other. I enjoyed Kara’s dominance and the sensual equality of Elizabeth once she allowed her inner lesbian woman to break free. The eroticism between the two was sizzling and compelling. At first, I wasn’t sure what to make of the first person narrative, but thankfully, that proved to not be a distraction. After reading the story, I’m sure that readers will agree with me that Switching Sides is a wonderfully saucy read.

Switching Sides is a Lesbian romance charting the seduction of a hitherto straight but sexually highly-charged college girl right into a Sapphic lover's arms.  First time and seduction stories often make especially interesting themes and this is no exception. It is hot and explicit but tender, too.

I can see it appealing to male readers but I hope that women will read this one, too.  It contains some good pointers as to why some may prefer Sapphic affairs and demonstrates how tender these may be.

Elizabeth is enjoying the sexual freedom of college life.  However, keeping a steady boyfriend is becoming harder and harder.  While on a date with a new guy, she meets Kara Nouveau.  Kara approaches Elizabeth offering her a new sexual experience.  Elizabeth has never thought about having sex with a girl, but Kara’s seductive caresses leave her trembling for more.  Embarking on a night of uncontrollable passion, these two lovers find the love of a lifetime.

Beth Wylde’s Switching Sides
is a heart pounding story filled with passion and love.  Kara awakens Elizabeth to unbelievable sexual satisfaction while showing her sex and love can come from the same person.  I look for ward to reading more of Ms. Wylde’s books in the future.

Switching Sides by Beth Wylde

Elizabeth has just gotten back to her dorm room after a night she will never forget.  Before she goes to bed for some much needed sleep, she just has to write in her diary about her night.  The evening started with a disastrous date, but while trying to figure out what happened, Elizabeth is joined by Kara whom she knows slightly from shared classes.  Kara wastes no time in letting Elizabeth know that she wants her, but isn’t sure if Elizabeth will share her passion.  One kiss starts the night of firsts for Elizabeth and she is determined to never go back.

Elizabeth and Kara are young college students who meet at a local hang out near the college.  The erotic night that they share is so well written that it drew me right into Elizabeth’s experiences with her.  While I realize that the subject matter can be controversial, I found that the characters and their passion for each other is so well presented that I found it very enjoyable.  If you have not read any female/female stories but are willing to try one, I would highly recommend this story as a great one to start with.

Elizabeth is a woman that is use to getting any guy she wants, until tonight; she discovers that the one that she wants is gay and she's in a gay bar. Now a whole new world is about to open for her with the help of Kara Nouveau. Elizabeth can finally find love; all she has to do is switch sides.

(Realms of Love Review)
Switching Sides by Beth Wylde (3.5 crowns)

Elizabeth goes through boyfriends at high speed. Sometimes
she is the one to leave; sometimes it’s her boyfriends who do. In truth, she simply has not found what she is searching for. Could the problem have been that she was searching for what she needs with the wrong people?

Kara is open about loving women. She makes a seductive invitation to unlucky-in-love Elizabeth and opens the latter’s eyes to new horizons.

Though generally well written, the plot left something to be desired.  However, the tenderness between the two characters was sweet.

“Switching Sides” by Beth Wylde revolves around the one-night sexual awakening of Elizabeth by her lesbian lover, Kara Nouveau.  The sex is very explicit and will offend readers not interested in female/female relationships.

Review:A 5 Pink Hats Off Salute!
I love a good werewolf story and "Full Moon Madness" by Beth Wylde was great! I could have wished for a longer story but what I got was enough to wet my appetite for anymore books by Beth Wylde.

Bryan is a policeman who loves his wife Tara, but he has a secret that he hasn't told her. While on duty six months ago he was bitten by a werewolf, and as you can imagine this has made for a complicated life. However, he is soon the Alpha of the pack and the previous Alpha wants revenge. Tara is captured and assaulted by the ex-leader and once she is rescued, Bryan has some fast talking to do. But Bryan had accidentally bitten Tara the morning before her capture during a bout of lovemaking, and now Tara is infected. From here the story just gets better. I hope there is more of this type of book by Beth Wylde as I will be happy to add her books to my to-be-read pile. I think that is the best recommendation I can give.

Full Moon Madness

Bryan loves his wife and daughter with all his heart and soul. He is willing do whatever it takes to keep them out of harm’s way. So, after Bryan wakes up from a hellish nightmare with his hands tightly wrapped around his wife’s throat, Bryan knew he needed to leave his family as soon as possible. However, before could proceed with his plans, his wife Tara, puts up a fight and demands he stays with her so they can conquer the problem together.

Tara knows that something is deeply disturbing her husband Bryan. Six months ago he almost lost his life in a near death accident on his job as a police officer. Every since that fatal night, Bryan has never been the same. Instead of allowing Bryan to break up their happy home, Tara decides to confront him head on and to learn the true reasoning behind his need to abandon them. Tara is shocked beyond belief once she discovers the truth behind Bryan’s mysterious behavior and to make matters worse, now she has become tangled up in Bryan’s secret life. Will Tara be successful in her new way of life or will she hate Bryan for what he did?

I found Full Moon Madness by Beth Wylde an intriguing, thrilling read. Readers please note horrible things happens to Tara that you might find a little disturbing; however, these events along with the support of her loving pack-leader husband Bryan, mold Tara into a true, powerful alpha-type female werewolf determined to defeat the evil villain who caused her pain. With that said, this novel is swarming with kick-butt action that is sure to cause great excitement. The sexual encounters between Bryan and Tara are raw and lustfully passionate. If you would like to explore a good werewolf read, then pick up Full Moon Madness. You will not be displeased!

Full Moon Madness

Review:

Full Moon Madness is my first tale by Beth Wylde, though after finishing it, I am sure it will not be my last. Currently Beth has only one other story available, Switching Sides, a short lesbian novella available from Torquere Press, but she does have more works in the pipeline. Currently a stand alone, Full Moon Madness has the potential to be developed into a great series, though at present the author gives no indication that this is her intent.

Full Moon Madness is an electrifying read and kept my eyes riveted to the screen. Though not for the faint of heart, this is a simply superb paranormal novella that I am glad I took the time to devour – I think you will be too when you also read this great tale, as you should. Make no mistake, Ms Wylde has a way of putting a story together that has a little of everything: high emotions, steamy sex, suspense, some violence and a tad of the paranormal, all coming together to make one fabulous, fast-paced read.

Tara's life had been perfect up until six months ago. She had had a devoted husband, Bryan, and a wonderful four year old little girl. Then Bryan was shot in the line of duty, and he hasn't been the same since. Their relationship is not what it used to be. He's more distant, unwilling to share himself, but she still loves him as much as she ever did. Awaking from a nightmare one night, she is concerned when she notes Bryan also in the throes of struggling with his own night terrors – until she finds his hand wrapped around her throat, squeezing the very breath from her. Then her concern becomes her very life. When he wakes in the nick of time, he's horrified and determined to leave, without explanation or justification. Just like that, this once gentle and loving man is going to throw away their marriage. Tara cannot allow him to do that. But even she is unprepared for the secrets Bryan has been keeping from her, or the consequences these secrets are to have on her own life. The reality of Bryan's existence is brutally forced on Tara, but she is determined to pull through for the sake of her family. Revenge is sweet, and protecting one's own is all important. Will Tara manage either?

Full Moon Madness has proven to be a stunning story that captured my attention from the get go and didn't release me until it was ready to. Much in the story came as a complete surprise, largely because the author, Ms Wylde, has a talent for keeping her plot secret from her readers until ready to reveal all, but also because the publisher does not advise us/the reader of the violence or rape contained herein (*frown*). Full Moon Madness is a rapid paced novella with a dash of everything, including suspense, hot sex, werewolves and much more. Please be warned that whilst this tale is sure to get your heart pounding and keep your gaze firmly affixed to the screen, it is not for everyone. There are multiple scenes of violence, some of which result in murder. There is also a brutal rape, though there is also consensual sex which is de-li-cious. All of this does get described, rather than glossed over, so if you cannot bear to read this then sadly you'd best give this tale a wide birth. There is nudity and some sex in front of other individuals, which is all part of being a werewolf. If you're willing to risk it, like myself (although I didn't know any of this was coming and at first was a bit taken aback), you should find yourself enjoying a novella that is so much more than it's length or synopsis promises and I doubt you'll regret picking up this fabulous tale.

Full Moon Madness
3.5 Wands

Tara wakes up from a nightmare to discover that she's not the only one having a bad dream - her SWAT-team husband, Bryan, has his hands gripped around her throat, and he's snarling at her to leave his wife and child alone. He wakes, at the last minute; only tell her that in the morning he'll be leaving 'for a few days'.

Tara can't understand what's going on. Bryan's behaviour makes no sense at all, and just as they seem on the brink of having a proper discussion his pager sounds, calling him to an emergency at work. Several hours later, her worst fears come true when a pair of uniformed officers arrive on her doorstep, announcing that Bryan has been killed. She's escorted to their car, and it's at that point that everything she thought she knew about the world starts to fall apart at the seams…

This is an interesting were-wolf tale, with a SWAT-team cast and context that seemed to have a strong influence on the style of writing - at times reminiscent of a witness testimony. If deliberate, it was a clever device: the already disturbing elements of the story - abduction, rape and domestic violence - were emphasised further by the documentary-style narration.
